Equipe franco-marocaine, sur le site de la carrière Thomas I à Casablanca, mettant au jour une mandibule complète d'"Homo erectus". Cette mandibule est le plus ancien fossile humain mis au jour lors de fouilles scientifiques au Maroc. Cette découverte permettra de mieux définir le rôle éventuel du Maghreb dans les premiers processus de peuplement de l'Europe du sud.
