Pétra (Jordanie). Petit monument taillé en très léger relief appelé "nefesh"
Pétra (Jordanie), capitale des Nabatéens. Ce petit monument taillé en très léger relief est une "nefesh" et symbolise, chez les Nabatéens, l'âme d'un défunt. Il s'agit donc, avant tout, d'un monument commémoratif. Celle-ci est identifiée par l'inscription nabatéenne gravée sur le dé comme étant Yaqûm fils de Zaydqawmû. Elle est gravée sur une paroi de la chambre funéraire du tombeau n°825, taillé au Débouché du Sîq, au pied du Jabal al-Khubthah (Légende L. Nehmé, CNRS).
