Polissage d'un miroir. Les méthodes de polissage développées au LAM (Laboratoire d'astrophysique de Marseille) permettent la fabrication de miroirs superpolis pour l'instrumentation à haut contraste dédiée à l'imagerie de planètes extrasolaires. L'excellente qualité de surface des miroirs doit permettre de minimiser les speckles (tavelures) résiduels et le niveau du fond diffus dans la formation des images.
