Picolab, interacting with the nanoworld
Alain Claverie, Director of CEMES and researchers David Martrou and Christian Joachim present PicoLab, a completely renovated building that pools together for the first time all the equipment and skills needed for picotechnologies (on a scale of a thousandth of a nanometre). This new equipment will allow the design, construction and nano-communications with a molecule-machine and atomwise electronic circuits manufacturing. In particular, it will house the world's first equipment offering, on the surface of an insulator or a semiconductor, an electronic and mechanical multiple access to a single molecule with atomic precision.
