Back to Sneffels - From fantasy to science
Until November 5, 2023, the Jules Verne Museum in Nantes presents an exhibition by artist Carol Müller and physicist Jacques Marteau, who set off to Iceland to explore the Snæfellsjökull volcano in the footsteps of the heroes of "Journey to the Center of the Earth".
The exhibition offers a photographic and scientific journey around this volcano capped by a glacier whose melting is predicted. While waiting for the trip to Nantes, discover a series of photographs by Carol Müller and two films on muography, the technique used by Jacques Marteau to image the volcano's entrails.
CNRS Images,
Our work is guided by the way scientists question the world around them and we translate their research into images to help people to understand the world better and to awaken their curiosity and wonderment.
