The kleroterion, symbol of Athenian democracy
The kleroterion was a device for democratic drawing of ancient Greece.
No copy has reached a perfect state of conservation until our time, so scientists at IRAA (Institute for Research on Ancient Architecture) used high-precision robotics to cut this specimen into a block of Marble limestone. They relied on the remains excavated during excavations and on the writings of Aristotle mentioning this instrument to design a reproduction as consistent as possible with those that could be found in the Athenian City, cradle of our civilization.
