L'ascidie rouge, "Halocynthia papillosa", vit fixée sur des substrats durs (roche, coralligène, épave, etc.). Ici, au large de la principauté de Monaco, elle est fixée à l'intérieur d'une grotte obscure artificielle et l'absence de compétiteur pour l'espace permet d'apprécier son ancrage au substrat.
