Cristaux synthétiques de monazite, phosphate minéral de terres rares, néodyme (Nd) ou lanthane (La) (NdPO4 rose, LaPO4 incolore). Les cristaux font 1 mm de long environ. La monazite, fabriquée de manière synthétique, peut avoir des applications intéressantes, en particulier dans le domaine des matériaux réfractaires et comme possible matériau de stockage de déchets radioactifs.
