Chondrite carbonée provenant de la chute de la météorite Allende (Mexique). Elle figure parmi les plus vielles roches observées par l'homme. Les chondrites proviennent de corps primitifs trop petits pour avoir fondu et évolué vers des planètes de type Terre, et représentent vraisemblablement le meilleur analogue que nous ayons pour la composition initiale de la Terre.
