Image d'un échantillon de glace amorphe (en blanc) à l'intérieur d'une rondelle métallique. L'échantillon a été créé par compression de la glace ordinaire à 20 kbar (20 000 bar) à -180 °C. Sous ces conditions, cette phase peut être décomprimée et l'échantillon retiré de la cellule haute pression. Diamètre de la rondelle : environ 20 mm.
