Radiocristallographie de virus (étude des cristaux par rayonnement). Le cristal de virus a été immergé dans un tube rempli d'éthane liquide qui est plongé à son tour dans un bain d'azote liquide afin de solidifier l'éthane. Ce traitement préservera le cristal jusqu'au moment de l'enregistrement de données de diffraction.
