Calorimètre électromagnétique réalisé au LPC de Clermont Ferrand qui mesure l'énergie transverse neutre (centralité à la réaction) dans le but de mettre en évidence un plasma de quarks et gluons. L'expérience NA50, réalisée au supersynchrotron à protons au CERN, utilise un faisceau d'ions lourds (plomb).
