Le détecteur Cherenkov aérogel destiné à être monté sous le spectromètre AMS (Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer) avant son départ pour le centre spatial Kennedy. Le détecteur Cherenkov à aérogel à seuil (Aerogel Theshold Cherenkov - ATC) a permis de séparer les antiprotons des électrons jusqu'à 3,5 GeV/c, durant le vol de la navette Discovery.
