Usinage de pièces du grand électroaimant, dans un atelier de la compagnie Thomson-Houston, à Saint-Ouen, le 20 mars 1928. Le noyau et le montant assemblés sont montés sur un tour vertical pour effectuer l'alésage (polissage du diamètre intérieur). L'ensemble pèse alors 18 tonnes. Le grand électroaimant a ensuite été installé à l'Office national des recherches scientifiques et industrielles et des inventions (ONRSII).
