Discs for skyward projection for the Salon des arts ménagers of 1928, photographed on January 19th, 1928. Each year, advertisements for, and reviews of, the Salon appeared in the press. The Salon of 1928 featured an unprecedented demonstration viewable by all visitors. Before an awestruck public, the Office tested a giant skyward projector requiring clouds as its backdrop using several discs with texts announcing the opening of the Salon. During the screening, and provided there were clouds in the sky, the giant letters were displayed over a diameter of between 180 and 300 meters. Office national des recherches scientifiques et industrielles et des inventions. Extract from the book Inventions 1915-1939 by Luce Lebart.

Our work is guided by the way scientists question the world around them and we translate their research into images to help people to understand the world better and to awaken their curiosity and wonderment.
