Startups et laboratoires, des liens privilégiés
The fourth episode looks at the benefits of collaboration between companies and public research, primarily the exchange of resources between the two. On the one hand, laboratories provide the company with expertise in their primary field. On the other, the company provides financial and human resources. This collaboration simultaneously advances research and develops innovation and the marketplace.
Jean-Luc Maria is the CTO and founder of Exotrail, a start-up specialising in mobility solutions for small satellites. It is through the creation of the Oracle joint laboratory, in collaboration with the CNRS, that this start-up was created.
Eric Mevel, director of the CELIA (Centre Lasers Intenses et Applications), also acknowledges the benefits of a link between the business and research worlds to drive creation and innovation. Since the centre was founded, five start-ups have been launched from the laboratories, by researchers and PhD students.
