Aurore polaire observée depuis la station optique "Nordlysstasjonen Adventdalen" qui est le site d'installation de l'instrument EPIS (Etude Par Interférométrie au Svalbard). On distingue les phares d'un véhicule sur la route qui descend de la station du radar EISCAT (European Incoherent Scatter Scientific Association). Cette expérience a pour objet d'étudier les mouvements de la haute atmosphère à l'intérieur de la zone aurorale. Les aurores de couleur verte sont les plus fréquentes, celle-ci est une aurore en draperie.
