Couronne d'éclipse du 11 août 1999, observée en Iran, à 12h03 T.U. Cette image révèle une couronne typique proche du maximum de l'activité solaire. La technique d'observation et les traitements numériques utilisés permettent de voir les structures et le rôle du champ magnétique dans la couronne solaire : cavités coronales, arches et jets coronaux. Certaines de ces structures radiales alimentent le vent solaire.
