From eggs to frogs
How does a new individual develop from an egg? This is revealed through observation of the frog Xenopus laevis, which reproduces in ponds in Africa. This much studied amphibian is used as the model for the study of embryo development. The transparency of the envelope which encloses the eggs allows for direct observation of phenomena.
The microcinematography reveals all the stages of development of the embryo, from impregnation to tadpole.
