Sismomètre STS-2 dans sa niche : il est installé au fond d'un puits (-12m) à Concordia, dans une niche de 0.70 x 0.70 x 0.45m creusée dans la neige compacte. En fonctionnement normal, il est protégé thermiquement par un chapeau isolant et la niche est fermée par un panneau isotherme.
