L'interféromètre millimétrique de l'IRAM (Institut de Radio Astronomie Millimétrique) est le plus grand radiotélescope de ce type existant au monde. Une des 5 antennes de 15 mètres de diamètre offrent une résolution angulaire de 0.5 secondes d'arc, permettant l'étude détaillée de processus astrophysiques comme la formation des étoiles ou des galaxies. Depuis 2005, l'interféromètre est constitué de 6 antennes.
