Échantillons d'alliage à mémoire de forme (nickel-titane), vierge à gauche, et après sollicitation rapide multiaxiale dans des barres de Hopkinson à droite. Ces dernières sont un dispositif permettant de soumettre un matériau à une sollicitation sous impact. Les chercheurs étudient le comportement de différents types de matériaux face à des sollicitations mécaniques rapides. Cela permet de mieux prévoir la tenue des matériaux sous conditions sévères.
