Télescope de la mission ASTHROS dans sa nacelle, devant le hall d’assemblage. La mission ASTHROS (Astrophysics Stratospheric Telescope for High Spectral Resolution Observations at Submillimeter-wavelengths) a pour objectif d'observer des objets astronomiques (régions chaudes ionisées, disques protoplanétaires, régions de formation d’étoiles). Ce télescope destiné à la radioastronomie dans l’infrarouge lointain (110 à 210 micromètres) sera emporté par un ballon à 40 km d’altitude depuis la base de McMurdo, en Antarctique, et devrait rester environ un mois au-dessus du continent.
