Charge explosive nanostructurée tirée
Detonated nanostructured explosive charge. With a view to obtaining the finest possible diamond nanoparticles, research scientists have developed a nanocrystallisation process by turning a microstructured charge (5-100 µm) into a nanostructured charge (50-200 nm). They then detonated this nanostructured charge in order to synthesise nanodiamonds whose size (1-3 nm) is suitable for use in various fields, such as medicine, cryptography, optical protection, etc. This result is a world first. Diamond nanoparticles could be used as vectors for medication in targeted treatments for cancer cells, for example.
