Instrument PILOT
Instrument PILOT dont l'objectif est de mesurer l'émission polarisée des grains de poussières du milieu interstellaire (MIS). Pour cela, il est embarqué sous un ballon stratosphérique conçu par le CNES. PILOT se compose d'un miroir primaire, d'un photomètre et d'un cryostat contenant 2 048 bolomètres refroidis à 0,3 K. Son premier vol s'est déroulé du 20 au 21 septembre 2015, à 40 km d'altitude, pendant près de 24h, depuis l'ouest du Canada jusqu'au Québec.
