Enceinte ultra vide (UHV) développée pour la fabrication et la caractérisation des sources d'ions à métal liquide (LMIS) qui sont au coeur de la technologie des faisceaux d'ions focalisés (FIB). Le principe opératoire de ce type de sources d'ions dit "ponctuel" repose sur un contrôle de la diffusion et de l'ionisation d'un film de gallium liquide déposé sur une aiguille de tungstène placée sous un vide poussé. Ici il est procédé au dégazage d'un creuset en matériau réfractaire contenant du gallium, ainsi que de l'aiguille de tungstène qui est portée à une température d'environ 2000 °C.
