Aconitum napellus, a species of the family Ranunculaceae. This flower’s gaudy, colourful organs are the sepals, and not the petals. The latter are concealed beneath the upper part of the flower which forms a sort of hood, whence the English name monkshood allotted to this flower. These petals are narrow, elongated and have at the end a kind of small pocket, containing nectar.

Our work is guided by the way scientists question the world around them and we translate their research into images to help people to understand the world better and to awaken their curiosity and wonderment.
