Local technique, au sous-sol du bâtiment Z de l'Institut Néel, au sein du polygone scientifique de Grenoble. Toutes les tuyauteries sont suspendues par des ressorts, afin d'éviter la propagation des vibrations aux étages supérieurs. Ce bâtiment de 2 600 m², inauguré en 2013, accueillera principalement des expériences en nanosciences. Il est exonéré de toute perturbation vibratoire, électrique, acoustique ou magnétique et possède des caractéristiques spécifiques de températures régulées et d'hygrométrie.
