The ocean, so strong and yet so fragile

A CNRS exhibition

Overview

A CNRS exhibition that reminds us just how much the ocean needs all the sciences. This immense unknown, fragile and threatened, is damaged by our activities, both at sea and on land. Mysterious and tumultuous, it feeds us, makes us breathe and regulates our climate.

To better understand and preserve it, CNRS scientists - biologists, physicists, mathematicians, cartographers, climatologists and economists - are exploring every facet of the ocean, from the depths to currents, from surface winds to interactions with human societies.

By combining their knowledge, these experts decipher this blue world, the key to our planet's equilibrium.

The exhibition is in 5 parts

Exploring the ocean today

What will the ocean be like tomorrow?

Protecting the ocean's riches

An ocean of innovation

The exhibition can be presented with the five-part bilingual (French, English) video series Ocean, Science in Motion.
